Nordic Association of Youth with Disabilities
Nordic Association of Youth with Disabilities is a new umbrella organizationfor disabled and chronic diseased youth in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Island, and the autonomous areas Greenland, Aaland and the Faroe Islands. The idea of the organization is collaboration amongst the Nordic countries. The similarities are many, and precisely because of this a great way to start allying.
The weekend of 22- 23 October the Nordic Association of Youth with Disabilities had its Policy Development Seminar. Participants from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland got together for a weekend of with workshops and lectures at Gardermoen, to discuss and develop new policy. The focus of the seminar was mobility in education and work.
The long term vision of NAYD is to have harmonized rules across the Nordic countries through a Nordic Treaty. Until this vision can become reality, in order to increase mobility for youth with disabilities between the Nordic countries, NAYD believe that improvement is needed.
